On 24 and 25 May, in Sarajevo, the Popri International Youth Business Model Competition
For the first time, the Titan will participate in an international competition for innovative ideas, organized as part of the strategy regional macro of the European Union EUSAIR, with an entrepreneurial project curated by four students of the University of the Republic of San Marino and selected by San Marino Innovation.
The initiative, called Popri International Youth Business Model Competition, is aimed at young people aged 19 to 29 and will take place on 24 and 25 May in Sarajevo, Bosnia - Herzegovina, where
Samanta Pazzini, Valentina Mini, Riccardo Andreoli and Michele Rizzi, enrolled in the Management Engineering degree course of the University of San Marino, will present an eco-sustainable system for the recycling of cigarette butts together with the tutor Giovanni Righi of San Marino Innovation.
The Institute itself, in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs, in December 2022 had assumed the role of contact person for the competition, which connects the world of youth with entrepreneurial opportunities, selecting the most innovative San Marino design idea and combining, with a own figure, the team chosen for the final competition.
This competition "is an important test bench for San Marino", an "international level stage that allows the San Marino youth entrepreneurial ecosystem to compete with the realities of other European countries", comments the operating director of San Marino Innovation, Michele Cervellini . It also represents “a training experience for the participants who, thanks to networking events, will come into contact with representatives of the business world”.
The San Marino delegation will present the project with a pitch in English, playing for the final victory with the representatives of the other nine countries that are part of the EUSAIR circuit, Adriatic-Ionian area: Croatia, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia - Herzegovina , Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
"This event represents an opportunity with many positive effects - explains Leonardo Tagliente, deputy director of the degree course in Management Engineering - because it offers students an opportunity for discussion at an international level and positions the Titan, as a country, in a competition with great potential in the economic and institutional fields. As far as the University of San Marino is concerned - continues the academic - 95% of the work was carried out by the students, whom I followed in collaboration with my colleague Karen Venturini and in line with their respective teachings, Business Planning and Innovation Management and of Creativity".
