In the future the vehicle will be permanently and seamlessly connected. This serves for new Functions in the car and beyond, for example regarding Infotainment, Vehicle Security or Intelligent traffic management. However, all these new functions, such as wireless updates to vehicle electronics are accompanied by many risks, especially when it comes to #data #transfer between the car and its environment.

The World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), under the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is planning to release new ECE Regulations [R155 - R156] regarding Vehicle Cybersecurity and Software Updates. These will present #Vehicle Cybersecurity as nonnegotiable for securing market access and type approval across UNECE WP.29 member countries. 

ATS, as designated Technical Service, with its many international partnerships, will be able to perform all the Tests and Inspections aimed to obtain the Type Approval Certificate with code E57, also in accordance to the Cybersecurity field.
